Cake Mix Cookies

Today is another snow day. I'm happy, though. Really. I'm happy because Taylor's Outdoor School has been postponed until later in the school year. So, in a sense, I'm sacrificing my sanity (today) for Taylor. And I'm good with that. It also helps that the kids have been pretty good this week, too.

This morning I whipped up some very simple, but yummy cookies.

Cake Mix Cookies:

1 box flavored cake mix*
1 egg
1/3 cup oil
2 - 3 TBSP water

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Mix all ingredients together well. Drop on cookie sheet.** Bake for 12-13 minutes. Devour.

*This batch was made from Triple Chocolate Fudge cake mix, but French Vanilla is extra yummy, too. (Coming back to report that I like French Vanilla better.)

**I always use a Silpat lining. Don't forget to use your coupon there. They never expire.

Hmmm... I've never made them like that. My recipeis a cake mix, an egg and a small carton of cool whip and then you drop them in powered sugar before baking. My dad's favorite is lemon, but I like the chocolate best. :)
i've never tried the french vanilla flavor.. the only ones i've made like this are lemon.
the chocolate fudge cookies look yummy... actually i think i have a box of that in the cupboard!

MMMmmm!
I always throw in a few white chocolate chips into my chocolate cake mix cookies. You know, it's because I could use the extra calories! :)

Oh, what a great price! I've never seen them for so low, & I know just where to find a coupon. All my baking sheets are just trashed. The cord skirt looks great. I've been thinking of how to wear all those great colors & patterns they make for girls, but as a grown-up. That's a sweet example.

Ooh! A friend of mine made chocolate chip cake mix cookies for a holiday cookie party and they were SO good. My favorites from the party, in fact. Why haven't I made these yet?
Hi Lera,

I tried this recipe on the weekend. I happened to have french vanilla and used it, however, I broke up a chocolate bar and had chunks of chocolate in them. The kids loved them, not to mention me. I told them if they liked them, homemade cookies would be the norm around here. I never knew of this recipe before... so thanks for sharing. Making cookies has never been so easy.
