Turns Out, I *AM* a 14!

So, I went to a flea market last Saturday (a week ago) and stumbled upon a vintage linens booth. It was full of aprons, quilts, handkerchiefs, and clothes. I was in heaven. I spent most of my time (about five trips to that particular vendor) and most of my money there.

One of my finds at that booth was this vintage skirt. I held it up to see if it would fit and it looked about right. I tried it on when I returned home and it did fit. Surprisingly, it's a size 13/14. Remember my whole skirt dilemma when I declared I was never a 14? Well, it turns out I am a 14. In vintage clothes.

And here's the proof. (P.S. That's Joe's man-hand in the photo, not mine.)

Joe said the skirt looks like I should be carrying a flask of ale. I said it looks like I should be carrying some vintage Pyrex. What do you think?

Oh, and my company arrived yesterday from Canada. I am thrilled to meet her (and her mother, Dianne) in person. We're going thrifting today.

Well, you are a very lovely size 14, if I do say so....
The sizing has changed so much since then. All those vintage patterns I recently bought have really wonkey sizing.

The skirt was a fun find. I am anxious to see what else you bought from that vendor!

About 5 trips to that particular vendor means there is more to show us right?

Hmm, I dread to think what size I might be in vintage clothing.

Ha, I'm afraid I have to agree with Joe... a flask of beer would look great with that skirt! But the Pyrex looks pretty good as well ;)

Have fun with your company!

Love the skirt. It's darling on you. With the red shoes of course. And Pyrex.

You make me smile!

Enjoy your company!

My vote is for the pyrex. The skirt is such a great find. And now I'm wanting my own pair of red saltwater sandals! Can't wait to see what you and your company find thrifting.

I like the skirt, but a 14? Just how tiny were people back then?

You're rockin' that 14! Welcome to the sisterhood of size 14. I'm not sure if it's an anomaly of science or sewing.

Very vintage chic on that skirt. And I love it with the red shoes--the Pyrex works too!

Wow, 14 seems pretty small. You look fabulous in that skirt. And I love the skirt. I keep trying on vintage clothing but I don't think they take too well to my 5'1" frame. I'm hoping one day to find something that fits well.
