Comfy Pants

Someone recently gave us a box of hand-me-down clothes. When I saw a striped, polo-style, short-sleeved shirt in the box, I knew my boys would not be interested in wearing it. The pattern was fun and I instantly thought that it would make a cute pair of pants for Sawyer. I had made a pair for Spenser when she was just a little thing and always thought they must be so comfy. If I could get away with wearing jersey pants, I would in a heartbeat.

Since the shirt was polo-style, it had a few buttons I had to remove and an opening I had to sew shut before I could cut them. You can see it above, but it's not very noticeable on his hip.

This is all that was left of the shirt. (All photos need "rabbit ears," doncha think?)

A quick, satisfying project.

I wear jersey pants, I'm not a fashionista, I wear them around the house :). The pants turned out too cute! Recycling old things into new is something I get such joy out of! The rabbit ears are such a classic touch.

I have set aside several old shirts to do this to. I don't know why I haven't gotten to it yet. Maybe your post is the inspiration I need! ;o)

Love the peace sign (rabbit ears!). Cute pants, I have always wanted to make a quilt out of old baby clothes? Just an idea I throw around!

I love the rabbit ears in the photo. :)

and what a GREAT idea to repurpose that way. I've wanted to make some of my husband's old polo shirts into skirts for me...just haven't given it a shot yet. this makes me want to try it today!

those so look comfy! I might have to make Isaiah some for pajamas. He's kind of in a in between size right now, so that might be perfect for him!

Okay, they ARE cute! As soon as I saw them I knew they used to be a polo shirt. That makes them cuter I think!

I wondered about the bunny ears comment. Now I have to go back to the post to look for little fingers!
