Scenes From a Family Walk

We had the most beautiful, gorgeous, spring-like weather this weekend. Temperatures were in the upper 60's and low 70's. Saturday was bright and sunny. Sunday was a little overcast, but nice nonetheless.

We have a geocache hiding in our small town and we got word that it needed maintenance. We decided to take a family walk and make the necessary repairs.

There was lots of tree climbing before we left. (And lots of fighting over who was going to climb which tree ...)

And there was lots of love, too. Spenser is holding Carter's hand. Sawyer is holding Taylor's.

One of my most favorite sounds of all: honking geese. (It plays a close second to the sound of my newborn's first cry.)

A creek by the walking path. I better never catch my kids playing in this creek. There are cows upstream and, well ... yuck.

And sometime this weekend Mason's face collided with Jackson's head during a game of dodge ball. Ouch! (Come to think of it, there was a lot of crying this weekend, too. Ah, well. Let's just forget that part.)

well.....my kids were playing in that creek on our walk! Their Dad did it first and the kids soon followed. You can tell we are true country kids! ME

I can't wait until it warms up a bit here - it snowed yesterday, only a little, but it was cold enough to be snow.

Can you recommend some/a geocaching website? I think my kids might be old enough to do some small ones this year.

There IS such happiness in honking geese... why is that? I love it too.

Awe. Why is it when someone mentions a newborn's cry and I'm all mush since having my bug?

My hubby gets a kick out of me because I too love the sound of geese flying over! There's just something about the cacophony of the flock busily looking for a pond or heading South!
