Quiet It Is Not

Our house is noisy. Very noisy. I try to make is more quiet, but it doesn't work.

Mason and I were playing a Thomas memory game. Some nice one-on-one time. It looks peaceful and quiet. It was anything but peaceful and quiet. What you don't know is the baby is in his swing crying and throwing a fit just a foot or two away from us.

Oh, look how peaceful he is. Such a sweet, sleeping baby. Yes, I used to think so, too. Have I told you that he rarely naps during the day anymore? And he's only four months old! This picture was taken during his five-minute cat nap yesterday. I thought I better document it since it is becoming more and more rare with each passing day.

And a little "tummy time," which he hates. He rarely gets to be be on the floor because I am afraid he will be trampled by the older children. He's most happy when I'm holding him. I love it, but I can't get anything done during the day anymore. (Did I mention that I sewed at 10 p.m. the other night just to feel like I am getting something accomplished? Joe was holding him, because, he's also a night owl. A baby who doesn't nap during the day and is a night owl ... At least he's been sleeping through the night!)

These two pictures were taken before he started to cry.

those cheeks! Laura if you want I can definitely come over and hold him while you get things done. Seriously, I need my baby fix.

Eliot wasn't fond of tummy time either. I think it was the fear of getting trampled. I think OUR house is noisy - and I've only got two. I can't imagine the ruckus at your house. :)

Oh no! He needs to sleep! If not for him, then for YOU! I wonder if all 6th children get like this. They realize all the fun their missing when they sleep. He IS sleeping through the night though - that's really good. And a game of memory isn't so quiet in this home either. Really, nothing is...

Oh yeah, and all my sewing gets done between 9pm and midnight if I don't collapse first.

One of my kids rarely napped during the day when they were a similar age. It was difficult to cope with. However, once Kiddo started crawling, and moving round a bit more, they did start napping.
