Saturday
Saturday morning we had to pick up Taylor from an over-night scout trip. We decided to make it a family day of fun.
After the awards and closing ceremonies, we headed to a thrift store (more on that later in the week).
And then we had an impromptu picnic. I ran into a grocery store in the area and picked up lunch and snacks and plenty of fluids. It is these impromptu picnics that make me have several opened bottles of mustard in my refrigerator.
We geocached at the park where we picnicked. It is a quarry that is filled with water, turtles, and fish. The boys found some fish food on the deck and were throwing it into the water. Sawyer found a hole in the deck and deposited the food in there.
The boys were having so much fun feeding the fish and turtles, that we actually bought some food and didn't make them scrounge around and pick up the dropped pieces.
Another geocache took us to this park, so we stopped for a popsicle break. The temperature was hot. It was humid. The boys loved to jump over the stream. The water was refreshingly cool and we cleaned off in it.

It was great for those sticky hands and faces. And arms. And elbows. And knees.
Our last cache of the day was at a natural spring. We sipped on the water ...
and played in the water for a bit.
