I Eat. Part Two.

I finally did it. I broke down and bought the Artisan Bread in Five Minutes a Day book. I figured the weather was going to be getting colder (and it is) and we'd want to eat more bread (and we do).

Last night was our first loaf.

It may not be the prettiest. It may not be the largest. But it was the yummiest.

After cutting it and giving everyone a slice, only two small end pieces remained. As Taylor left the dinner table, he snagged one of the last pieces. And then this one piece was all that was left. We all wanted it, but no one wanted to take it.

Sawyer left to go to the bathroom and on his way back, he grabbed it off the cutting board and ate it. And that was that.

I love that book! I use their recipe for olive oil dough for our Friday pizza nights and it is the best pizza crust hubby and I have ever had. We also love the sourdough recipe.

I love making my own bread. My father always made bread on Sundays. So every Saturday evening I make a loaf, Yours looks yum!

Isn't that bread yummy! I've been making it for a couple of years now, no more of the tedious kneading, rising, etc of regular home made bread when this is just as good and goes with everything.

OM NOM NOM. I heart that book...and it's on my wishlist for my birthday this year. LOL (I'll probably end up buying it for myself with Swagbucks...but whatever.)

Here's a nummy - take your sourdough dough and make it into little walnut sized balls. Boil them as directed for soft pretzels, sprinkle with kosher salt and bake (425, I think.) Serve with deli mustard = the best pretzels you've EVER had. (A friend said they were better than Yankee Stadium pretzels. ;-))

It looks pretty and delicious to me! I may have to break down and get it too - I've heard so many good things about it.

I've been meaning to start making fresh homemade bread, and this post is just encouraging me to just start doing it! I hope that book is at the library or something. I'm in No-Spend September, so I can't be buying new things! :-)
