Not a Baby

Sawyer's not a baby anymore. It's sad, but true.

He had his first haircut yesterday at the tiny one-chair barber shop in our little town. (Joe's grandmother forbids us to have a baby's hair cut before the first birthday. Not that our kids have much hair before they are one anyway.)

He didn't cry. He just kept trying to push the barber's hand away.

And then our camera battery died before he was finished.

Look at him! He looks so grown up. He's not a baby anymore.

(The friendly barber, whom we have never met before, didn't charge us for the haircut. He said he never does for a baby's first. He even gave us a certificate.)

OK, when did he grow all that hair ? :)
What a nice haircut and a cute keepsake for his first haircut.

oh, you're MIL and i wouldn't get along. i'm a big 'cut it when they need it' kinda gal. i started cutting princess' bangs when she was about 3 months old, and by one she had a cute little bob (tons of hair). thomas got buzzed when he was 2 months old. for real.

He's a cutie! Isn't funny how a haircut can seem to change them so much?

Oh! He's still a baby!

Hali just turned four, and my husband always refers to her as "the baby" so when people meet her they always say "she's not a baby!" but Jeremy insists that she is "his baby".

Honestly, they're really still babies until they are preschoolers!

He is so handsome!!! My husband forbids me to cut our kids hair until they get their first period... so consider yourself lucky. ;-)

OH so handsome!! How cool that the barber doesn't charge for the first haircute!! I've never heard that before, but when my boys were babies, my mother cut their hair, I never took them to a barber when we lived in Kentucky.
