All-American Baby

Okay, Sawyer is not a baby anymore, but we still call him that. A bad habit we need to break. Soon. Poor guy.

Anyway, Emily was right. Sawyer did get a new outfit. Although his wasn't red, white and blue. His was more "all-American-sports" outfit. I thrifted a 100% cotton baby crib sheet last week and made some long shorts and a matching tee.

I have learned that onesies for big boys like Sawyer are hard to find. Harder than in the past. I would like him to wear a onesie for two reasons. One -- he's still my baby (sorry, but he is) and I think it would be nice for him to wear a onesie for the rest of his life. Okay, maybe not that long, but I'm trying to hold onto my baby as long as I can. Soon, one day, he'll be 11 1/2, and well ... there's no time for mom then.

Two -- he tries to remove his diaper if left to his own devices for a few minutes.

So, since I can't find large onesies for him, I resorted to boys' undershirts, size 2T/3T. I think I am fine with it. Really. ::sniff::

He also wore a red, white and blue jacket that I thrifted when Jackson was a baby.
And he was so sleepy on the way home from the parade, that he fell asleep in the car with a mouthful of churro. Silly baby big boy.

I LOVE that sporty fabric! What a cute outfit Lera! And, Sawyer will ALWAYS be your baby, don't fret.

A technical note: I can click on pictures 2 & 3 and make them bigger but NOT 1. We HAVE to figure this out.

Cute. Sawyer will always be the baby, though, won't he? But I know what you mean. Fidge isn't a baby anymore either...

Sigh. It's such a sad sad thing. Little P told me that he was a "bid boy" yesterday.

As usual, cute outfit. Your kids must take really long naps. How else do you manage to fit in all this sewing? ROFL!

Sawyer is precious. His little outfit is perfect.
My "baby" is 14 and is still refered to as such. She doesn't care...in fact, she likes being called "baby", "princess", "pretty girl", "cutie pie" and a host of other love names. (At least that's what I tell myself) haha!

I know exactly what you mean. Jaxon picked up the nickname Baby Jaxon when he was just a few months old and I STILL call him that. A friend at work thinks he'll be 40 (and living in my basement) and I'll still be calling him Baby Jaxon...

I feel the same way about my baby - luckily he is a small guy so it's a little easier to think of him as a baby.

Ok, Sawyer has to still be a baby because he is younger than Ava and she IS still a baby!!!!

If I say it enough, I can make it true, right?

Seriously, his little outfit is so cute, and I am so jealous of all the sheets you seem to find! You and Beki must have some kind of blessing on y'all or something LOL

The sandwich plates are an awesome find!!!!
