Bits of Randomness

I haven't shared any Works-in-Progress (WIPs) lately, so I thought I'd share the latest. On the left is a wraparound skirt and on the right another 3835 dress. Both have been cut from vintage sheets and are awaiting some stitches.

Yesterday I had to run into the fabric store to buy some brown thread. While I was distracted, Spenser asked if I could make her a pink dress. Of course I can. Then she proceeded to pick out this strawberry fabric. It wasn't my first choice of fabric (or my second), but after looking at all the strawberry fabric in the store, she still liked this one the best, so home it came. We washed it right away and last night I sewed up a new dress for her. Excuse her bedhead.

And I remembered that I didn't share my vintage Pyrex from Saturday's flea market trip. Two small mixing bowls: Butterprint and solid, bright orange (can't find any references for this one) and one small aqua baking dish.

And I was thrilled to find this set of four Butterprint Cinderella mixing bowls. They are in near perfect condition. I later searched eBay and found this set going for more than twice what I paid for it. Sweet.

I also bought two small glass storage containers with lids (one Pyrex and one Fire King) but they are in the refrigerator living amongst the tuna and stir-fry veggies.

Tomorrow is the last day for the flea market. I don't know when there will be another one in my area ...

Comments

Can't wait to see the finished skirt and dress.

I noticed Spenser is in a high chair. I wish DD would allow us to put her in one. She refuses to these days (unless we are out) and sometimes it is hard to get her to sit down and finish her dinner.

Love the dress, even if you aren't a huge fan of her fabric choice!

And your pyrex is awesome. Love the blue...

lucky you! what great pyrex finds! I have got to find a good flea market!

Cute little dress, too. Pink and strawberries - really, does it get any better when you're that age?

You've got me convinced that I need to get some vintage sheets and start sewing. I'm so impressed.

Lera, I hope you get this comment in time, but, tomorrow at the flea market ask everyone who is selling things there where another one is in your area. Dealers rarely sell at only one market, there must be another one somewhere.
I am so jealous of your vintage sheet stash. i have been hunting for a few weeks but haven't found anything as nice.
But it gives me a good excuse to keep hunting!
