One of *Those* Days

You know it's one of those days when your son comes home from the bus stop, one minute after leaving the house, with bird poop on his arm.

And when the most giant bottle of chocolate syrup in the world falls out of the fridge onto your foot.

And when you reach into your kitchen cabinet to realize that a mouse has been in there. And your husband is out of town.

And you go to your eldest's school to preview the family life movies and you get a case of the giggles that you have to suppress. Why I couldn't resist giggling, I have no idea. (I'm giggling now.) I don't know if it was the funny early-90's music with hilarious lyrics about growing up, or the hairstyles and clothes, or some of the phrases they used. I know it wasn't the subject matter that made me giggle, some of it horrified me that they teach that stuff to sixth graders.

I know that sitting in a classroom is not for this old body. By the end, my neck, knees, and back were revolting. I think it was the body discomfort that kept me from losing my cool and giggling like a sixth-grader.

But today is a new day. And it's not going to be anything like yesterday. I can already tell.

Have a great weekend.

oh dear. Lera, those videos make me giggle, too. Not sure why, either, because I could swear my daughter isn't old enough for them, although I know was younger than she was when I had to see them the first time.

what. a. day.

have a wonderful weekend, sweets.

I have to know--what do they teach in the videos? I'm imagining the most inappropriate, salacious kinds of details now, and now I have the giggles!

Literally, the only two things I remember about my own sixth-grade family life filmstrip screening is that it starred the little-girl cast of the broadway Annie, and they talked about how when they began menstruating, they were fired from their roles, and that one of the other girls began to weep, copiously and inexplicably, in the middle of of the film. Awesome.

The worst part must have been the mouse. You are so brave. I'd have stayed in a hotel until Joe got home! REALLY!

Does this mean you don't want me to come over?
Did you make Taylor stand there and wait for you to grab the camera? lol

OH NO! I hope today is better! If it makes you feel any better when we went to the breast feeding class when I was pg with my oldest, DH looked at me and said with a complete straight face "I don't think I'm mature enough to sit through this." HAHAH!!!

Oh, and Julie ~ I had the same video, the one with the cast of Annie!!! :)

Oh la Lera you don't do things by halves! That's the sort of day that's best dealt with by having an early night after a long soak in the bath.

Hope tomorrow is much better. Bird poop is meant to be lucky for the recipient. :-) Don't know who thought that up but I was never amused.

I think mice can tell when my husband isn't home. It never fails that when we get one, he's nowhere to be found. Hope you have a weekend free of bird poop.

I cannot tell you how GLAD I am to not have to attend those fun little video presentations ever again. I remember the time MArk and Makenzie had thiers on the same day(they split the girls and boys...don't know if they still do that..) Of course, Craig was recruited to attend one, and I told him that I was going with Mark, so he had to go with Makenzie. You should have seen his face! Talk about giggle! It was priceless! (I didn't make him go with her!)

Mice are just totally gross. Gimme a spider or bug, but I can't do mice. At all. Eeewww!

I am so glad the bird poop landed on Taylors arm and not in his hair....:):):)

I hope your husband gets home soon..Have a terrific weekend!

I have to teach *that* in my school. Thank God we stopped using the videos. They were awful! Ours were so old that one of the girls from the show Sister Sister was in it.
