Decisions, Decisions, Decisions

I am indecisive. Annoyingly so. About most things. Unless I have a strong opinion about something. And I do have strong opinions. Letmetellyou.

Anyway, I need a new header for my blog and I can't decide which photo I like best of the kids. It's so difficult to get them all looking in the right direction. Smiling at all. Eyes open (as opposed to squinting in the sun). Non-goofy looks. (Yes, there were some minor threats being tossed about.) And there is always at least one child who is not looking at the camera, not smiling, eyes shut, or has a goofy way about them, and it's hard to decide which kid to "sacrifice."

Here are the three best photos from our week:

Photo #1: This photo was taken at the same rocks as last year. Sawyer is not looking at the camera and Taylor looks unhappy. Everyone else looks good, though.

Photo #2: Same shot as above, but Sawyer is just about to yawn. It's kind of cute, but kind of weird.

Photo #3: This photo was taken at Swallow Falls. Everyone looks pretty good, except Spenser is unintentionally winking in the photo. Sawyer is sticking out his tongue, but that doesn't even bother me.

So, friends, which picture do you like best? Which should I use as my new banner?

Well Lera, we might be decisive but I don't know that we will all agree! Three is pretty cute, but I love the idea of a photo on the same rocks as the present one. Love the continuity!

I really like picture 3, but I will really miss the existing header. I think that is why picture 3 is the best because the other two are the same pose as the existing one, so if you are going to change it, I think it's best to have the different pose.

Probably number three, but I like the kids' expressions in number two the best. I like the idea of a different setting, like number three. So three for me with two a close second.

Definitely number three! The other two pictures wouldn't really make a change as they're taken on the same rocks as the current header. And your kids are beautiful as they are! Hugs from Germany

Reusable Swiffer WetJet Cloths

I promised myself that, when I bought a box of Swiffer WetJet refills at the wholesale club, it would be the last box I bought. Something had to be done. Now, to be honest, part of the reason was to help the environment, but the other part was because I was tired of running out of those darn things. I took some towels, folded them in half cut them into 5" widths. (The towel was just about 25" or so from side to side when flat.) Then I cut two 5" pieces of elastic and serged it all together. Two layers of toweling and two elastic strips. That's it. (The finished piece was approximately 4.75" x 12.") Within minutes I had a stack of eight. Slide them on and mop away. You will have a clean floor and have saved one more thing from ending up in the landfill. Now, if I can just do something about the cleaning liquid ... Something environmentally-friendly, economical, and won't cause further pain to my arthritic back.

It's that time of year again. The one that seems to come faster and closer every year. Yes, today I am 39. (That means I'm almost 40! Aaaahh!) To keep in tradition with years' past , I decided to do a list of things you might not know about me . (My best friend loves these posts, so this is in honor of her. You know who you are.) I ran 1 3/4 miles this morning. I gained 3-4 pounds after Sawyer weaned himself this year. Since starting to run, Joe has said that my thighs are "as tight as when we were first married." I didn't realize my thighs weren't tight. Hmmm. I guess six kids can do that to you. I need a new mattress. We bought our last mattress when I was in labor with Carter . That was ten years ago. We also bought a set of bunk beds that day. I want a new sofa. Actually two new sofas. I'm waiting until Sawyer is potty-trained. I'm planning on training him as soon as school lets out in June.
