Playing

We had two rainy days this week on vacation. Joe took the older boys to see the new Harry Potter movie one rainy afternoon, while I stayed at the cabin with the two younger ones. (We watched Toy Story and Toy Story 2 and ate lots of popcorn.)

During yesterday's rain, we played games. Scrabble Apple. Bananagrams. Boggle. (We found Scrabble Apple and Bananagrams at our local Target and Boggle was a freebie from the Swap Shop.)

And after playing games, we started this 1,000-piece puzzle that I bought on clearance after Christmas last year. It's almost finished.

(And last night, after the rain stopped, we took the boys to the Mountain Coaster.)

Now see I need those ideas for this weekend when it is too HOT to be outside! But I am home alone so I guess I will just sew. :D That mountain coaster looks like FUN!!!

Reusable Swiffer WetJet Cloths

I promised myself that, when I bought a box of Swiffer WetJet refills at the wholesale club, it would be the last box I bought. Something had to be done. Now, to be honest, part of the reason was to help the environment, but the other part was because I was tired of running out of those darn things. I took some towels, folded them in half cut them into 5" widths. (The towel was just about 25" or so from side to side when flat.) Then I cut two 5" pieces of elastic and serged it all together. Two layers of toweling and two elastic strips. That's it. (The finished piece was approximately 4.75" x 12.") Within minutes I had a stack of eight. Slide them on and mop away. You will have a clean floor and have saved one more thing from ending up in the landfill. Now, if I can just do something about the cleaning liquid ... Something environmentally-friendly, economical, and won't cause further pain to my arthritic back.

Today is my second blogiversary . I have been jabbing my jaws for two years now. Two years. Time has flown by. I've had my blog longer than I've had Sawyer in my life, which seems totally weird because it feels like he's always been a part of my life.
