Corduroy Dress

A few years back, I bought several yards of dark brown corduroy on sale. I made a skirt and a pair of pants/lounge pants. Oh and a pair of pants for Sawyer, too. And a bonnet. I also lined a few bags with it. I was a little obsessed.

I think that obsession is back.

Most recently I used it for a few Christmas gifts (which I keep forgetting to post). And then for Spenser's jumper.

This dress is another Simplicity 3835. It's super comfy and warm. I like making new skirts and dresses for church. It makes it easier to get out of bed in single-digit temps because Hey! I have something new to wear! I think I need a new corduroy shirt. 3835, of course.

Do you think it's bad to wish my entire winter wardrobe was made of brown corduroy?

I also love corduroy. You did a wonderful job on all of your clothes you made. I had to look back at all of them.

Brown corduroy is just so yummy. It just is. Go with it and don't look back. Wait, I believe you already have... ;)

It reminds me of a project called "My little brown dress" where a Seattle woman, concerned she was getting too hooked on fashion vowed to wear the same brown dress for one year-every day. If you Google "little brown dress" you can read her story. I wondered why she didn't make several brown dresses and just rotate.

Love, love, love this dress in brown cord...as she runs as fast as she can to dig her own 3835pattern out.

Way awesome. Maybe you should make a Snuggie out of it ;) I'm on that brown corduroy wagon too - only I don't have the dress to show for it! What I do have: a scrap piece of fabric from the thrift for $1 and a yard sale Gap skirt for .25 cents.

I love corduroy too, although not when all the fluff gets attached to it. Your dress looks wonderful. I remember my son wearing corduroy pants when he was very little too.

OK. I was going to gush about your dress and tights and boots and how it all looks so great on you, but then I read all the other comments, and it's all been said. How is that you look so fabulous after having all those babies? Sigh.
