Wintry Totes

I've been using my candy corn totes since I made them. And, well, it's Christmas time. Well past candy-corn season. I've just been a little busy lately. (Santa's helpers are hard workers, you know.)

I bought a few more plain canvas totes and got to work embellishing them. The first one is a snowman. I had just enough large white buttons to make him. Again, I embroidered brown stick arms. (Like my secret Christmas project.)

And then I made a candy cane tote. (Sorry I can't show a better photo of them, it's so darn overcast here today.)

Anyway, I decided to give away the candy cane tote. If you would like to enter to win, just leave a comment on this post. I will randomly draw a winner on Sunday evening.

Let's see, how about you leave a comment telling me your favorite holiday treat or food. Any holiday. Any food. I don't know if I can decide which is my favorite. There are really so many. I love my buckeyes at Easter and my toffee and truffles at Christmas. (Oh, and let's not forget my spiced nuts at Christmas!)

(And I feel like I have to say how relieved I am that for last week's giveaway, no one picked Last Christmas by Wham! as their favorite song. That really might have changed my opinion of them. I think if I hear that song one more time, I'm going to lose my mind. Update: It's 11:40 a.m. and they are playing Wham! on XM.)

Congratulations to Lisa - Life With 4! You are the winner of the candy cane tote. Please email me your mailing address (on sidebar) and I'll pop it in the mail.

I'm laughing... I heard the Last Christmas song in the store a few days ago and I had the same reaction.... uuuggghh! It just doesn't fit, Wham singing Christmas songs? How weird!!

Any way, my favorite holiday food would have to be...my Mom's spiced nuts with raisins. yummmmm!

Hmm...my late grandmother's fruitcake! She would always make one without rum just for my little Mormon family, and apologized every year for how dry it was :)

Great totes. I love the Christmas holly wreaths made with cornflakes, green coloring, and marshmallows. Oh, and don't forget the red hots.

Cute totes. You always have the best ideas! Where you find the time is beyond me. I feel strapped to get done what I do and you have two more kids than I do. ;o)

I love just about any Christmas cookie, but my favorite is one called "Pecan Crisps" that I only make at Christmastime. It's like a sugary pie crust with pecans on top.

Holiday food??? Ummm...I love turkey. Joe hates turkey. I get very excited at Christmas when we go out for dinner and turkey is being served.

Those totes are really really cute Lera. I love the snowman one!

Okay before you said you were giving it away I thought to myself how cute it was! The candy cane is adorable. *Warning* You are sure to think differently of me, I like, I mean rather enjoy, Last Christmas by Wham! It makes me think of a time when I was a preteen and thought George Michael was so cute! I now know it really wouldn't have mattered if we ran into each other at the mall... He never would have fallen for me! Oh well. LOL!!!
For my favorite holiday treat. My dad makes yummy bbq like meatballs as appetizers for Christmas. I <3 them. hmmm meatballs and George Michael all in the same post.

Oh My Goodness, Lera ~ I like that song but I NEVER realized WHAM sang it! I have a whole new opinion of that song. Thanks for enlightening me!!!!
Of course I want to enter your current giveaway. My favorite holiday treat would have to be my Grandma's thumbprint cookies. I have the recipe now and its my responsibility to make them. Not only are they my favorite cookies, but they also hold a special place in my heart because they remind me of Christmas' past with my grandparents and my Grandfather just passed away last month so these cookies will be extra special this year.

Amusing, but I don't know the name of my favorite holiday treat. We had a German exchange student one year and her grandma sent her a special cake for Christmas. It was SO amazingly good. We still drool over it...
