Clothes Pin Bag

Thank you for your support yesterday while I was grumpy. I'm happy to report that my grumpiness faded with each kind comment. Thank you, friends. And who knew that so many of us can't sleep when our husbands are away?

Joe came home last night and surprised us. The Army decided they needed him back at work today to do a presentation. He worked on it until late last night. Thank goodness he's back, though. He was up in the Fort Dix area. It has been worrying me.

Yesterday I whipped up a clothes pin bag for my mother-in-law for Mothers Day. She asked me a few weeks ago for one, and I stumbled upon this free pattern completely by happenstance. I had forgotten that she had asked me, and suddenly this pattern appeared and reminded me. Love when that happens. (Do you think it's cheesy to give this as a gift for Mothers Day since she asked for it? It's only part of her gift. She's getting some cards, too. And probably something else.)

It's lined in unbleached muslin, which the pattern didn't call for. I also put a small piece of bias tape across the front of the hanger to hold the hanger in place on windy days. I think I might need one.

This morning is Mason's preschool Mothers Day luncheon. He will serve me lunch and they will sing songs. It's a fun little preschool tradition.

The BEST gifts, I think, are the ones that someone really wants and needs. I think it's perfect.

(I'm glad Joe is home and safe too.)

Very cute! And I don't think its cheesy at all to give her something she asked for as a gift - better a clothespin bag than something else to dust (IMO)

The bag is so cute, I found your link looking for a bag to make for myself. My MIL is no longer with us, but I always made the gifts that we gave, they mean so much more from the heart.
