Wishing

... that I was the one relaxing in the tub. (Today started out rough again. I will spare you the details, but will say that a certain eight-year-old was walking to the bus stop in tears and his mama was almost in tears. Let's just hope that when he opens his lunch and sees his sandwich on hotdog buns, it will cheer him up. I ran out of bread this morning.)
Although Spenser's leg still hurts and she won't put any weight on it, her spirits are lifting. She took one step last night and cried. She has not taken another one since. The doctor told me to encourage her to walk. And I do. I'm just not successful.

She sits on her throne (the sofa) all day. Surrounded by comfy pillows and blankets. She eats her meals at her throne. She watches TV and plays Pixter and reads books. Why would she want to leave? (Other than the fact that she is normally a very active two-almost-three-year-old girl.)

Her appointment with the orthopedic is Thursday at 2:15 p.m. Maybe we'll find out what's going on.

What a smiley little girl.

I hope the day is improving Lera!

Glad to hear it isn't broken. Hopefully in a few days it will heal and she'll be more comfortable.

Hi Lera -- you've been having quite the week haven't you... I'm empathizing with you from here. I like Sawyers new outfit by the way.

Oh bah Lera! SURELY tomorrow will be better. At least Spenser seems to be in good spirits. I have been thinking about you and sending you peaceful calming thoughts. Perhaps tomorrow they will finally arrive!

I hope things are getting better by now!

My friend's daughter hurt her leg and wouldn't walk on it for about a week. After that she limped for another week and now all is well. She is a pretty tough girl too, so it was rather odd that it took her so long to get to walking!

I hope your girl is walking around soon!

Hopefully the orthopedic will have good news. Ya know -- some weeks are the kind where you really wish you were a kid again. You know -- when the words "do over" meant something? *sigh* I think every parent has those (probably more than we'll even admit to) -- hang in there!
