Yesterday

Yesterday was Mason's Mothers Day brunch at school. I sat and he served me. I We (Mason and I) had lemonade, fresh fruit, a cheese stick, a jumbo cinnamon streusel muffin, vegetables and dip, and chocolate. It was nice. We also took a self-portrait, which I have done with each of my boys. We had a good time. He even goofily lip-synced the Mothers Day song to me. He was supposed to sing, but he was being too silly.

Last night was Taylor's spring music concert. He plays the clarinet in the beginners band. They did really well. We actually left after his set of songs because the boys were being noisy and disturbing the other people (and Joe was working late). Not to mention that Taylor's band was first and the concert was supposed to last 1 1/2 hours. I'd like to think that I did a great service to the people around me.

A few weeks ago I appliqued a turtle onesie for Sawyer. It's the same fabric as the jacket that reminded me of sliced green olives. It also reminded me of a turtle shell, so that's what the scraps became. Last night (10:30 p.m.) I decided he needed shorts to match his shirt. I sewed the shorts and as I was clipping the last of the stray threads with my thread snips, I snipped a hole right in the back of his shorts! (I didn't have any fabric left to make another pair, so I zigzagged over the hole. It was a triangle about the size of a pencil eraser.) I think this just proves that you shouldn't sew when you are tired. (I fell asleep before Grey's Anatomy was over -- 10:00, but wanted to sew when I woke up. Dumb.)

Happy Mothers Day!

I think they did a great job last night. I didn't hear your kids at all. Although Anna thought it took years for the concert to be over. She had seen it before, so she was bored after the beginners were finished.

I just love your blog.(delurking)
You accomplish so much, with all those children. I have only two, and I cannot believe how energy it would take for 6!
I hope you have a wonderful Mother's Day!

Lera, Jack was looking at your blog with me and when he saw the picture of you and Mason he said "look! There's mommy." (I wear eyeglasses that are nearly identical to yours.) Then he said, "Is that Jack?" with a little trepidation. Silly boy! LOL

Hey Lera - Who is Mason's teacher. You had a great menu. Today we had egg salad sandwiches and potato chips! Not to bad...but not a muffin and cheese

Happy Super Mom's Day, Lera - lord knows you deserve it! All adorable pictures here - your kids are the cutest.

BTW: When you applique those onesies, do you use wonder under? Just curious how you get them so perfect. A friend is having a baby shower soon and I'd love to make her a couple cute sets.
