No News ...

So, I go into the OB's office today and, apparently, the doctor wasn't there because he was in the O.R.! Just like Friday's appointment. They had tried to call me at home before my appointment, but we live 20 minutes away, and had left about 30 minutes prior to my appointment. Luckily they expected him in about 45 minutes later, so we ran some quick errands and then returned.

I hit "the magic number" today ... 160! You know that that means? Baby time!

Of course, my cervix has not dilated past 1 cm. It's still thick and long, but is "softening." (He's happy that I'm contracting because it is softening the cervix, if nothing else.)

My doctor said he has no reason to induce at this time because my body is not ready, the baby is not "mature " (whatever!), and it's better for the baby to be in me right now. I agree. Joe wants the baby out now because he started his official leave today (from the Army) and has to go back to work in 2 weeks, not to mention he will be out of town the first week of October and is concerned about leaving me when the baby is a week old (which he actually did when Mason was born).

Sooooo . . . I am scheduled for a non-stress test for Thursday 9:00 a.m. at the hospital. As long as that goes well, I do not return to his office for any more appointments. (Yeah, no more weigh-ins!) And I am scheduled for induction for Tuesday, 9/26, at 7:00 a.m., unless of course I go sooner.

And here I am ... until then ... whenever that is!

Oooh, sending you lots of happy cervix-dilating vibes. And yes, that was weird to type.

Okay. So only a week longer, at the most. And I'm with Kelli, but I'm not going to type it. Ew. :)

It won't be long. Their dates are just estimates anyway. If the baby isn't ready, then you want him to stay in. Things will happen in their time. I'm just glad he's head down!

I'm glad you're feeling better. I'm sure it's no fun having someone else roll you over at this point.

My hubby had two weeks home from Kosovo (munchkin was born two days before he could get home though, and four days before we were going to induce) and then he had to leave again for several months. I know you'll be ok...wish I could be there for you, or bring you guys here to Kansas!
